Copenhagen, JAN 20, 2003 (newstodate): Swedline, formerly named Varmlandsflyg, is planning to add a route between Palanga, Lithuania, and Copenhagen from this summer's schedule.
Swedline started operating the route Palanga-Stockholm in October last year with SAAB 340-aircraft, being the first foreign carrier to be granted traffic rights in Lithuania.
-Swedline is still a young airline, so it has focussed on passengers only during the initial phase. But as the aircraft can actually take some 500 kg of air cargo in addition to 33 passengers, we would be interested in seeing these operations include freight as well, says Gintaras Streikus, managing director og Lithianian freight forwarding company, Interekspresas at Palanga.
Streikus says he would welcome some Scandinavian GSA to develop this business potential.
