Copenhagen, JAN 28, 2003 (newstodate): Switzerland and Japan have agreed on an
amendment to the existing, rather restrictive air agreement, allowing SWISS to implement daily flights between Zurich and Tokyo.
Under the current agreement, SWISS was only allowed to operate five flights per week during the summer, and six per week during the winter period.
The agreement also grants SWISS better access to the Japanese market, while Japanese airlines obtain additional landing rights in Switzerland in codeshare with SWISS or other airlines.
