OCT 08, 2003 (newstodate): Lithuanian joint military/civil airport Siauliai may be in for a major boost in air cargo.
The airport has reportedly handled 10 freighters in August, primarily carrying transit shipments from China to Russia.
This traffic may increase significantly with Lithuania's entry into EU by May next year, when Stage II aircraft including the IL-76 will be banned at Lithuania's other airport at Kaunas.
