OCT 02, 2003 (newstodate): The Slovak Republic's provider of air navigation services, LPS SR, has signed a contract with Thales to upgrade its current ATM Eurocat ATM system, operational since 1999.
The system provides en-route control of the Slovak airspace, in addition to approach and tower control at Bratislava Airport.
The upgrade will allow LPS SR to increase capacity, improve maintenance efficiency, and meet the latest European standards of ATM.
The upgrade will be fully implemented by 2005, and builds on modularity allowing the user to incorporate later facilities to meet future air traffic growth.
