OCT 27, 2003 (newstodate): Danish low-cost airline Sterling is seeing bright prospects for expansion after the first nine months of this year.
The airline carried a total of 1.007.688 passengers, up 39 percent on last year.
Passenger volumes were split between route passengers, 79 percent, and charter passengers, 21 percent.
Operating profits became DKK 26.2 million against 19.9 last year.
As a result, Sterling expects to take in five new Boeing 737-800 aircraft before summer 2004, in addition to the eight Boeings already in service with the airline.
