OCT 10, 2003 (newstodate): In 2002, passenger volumes from Norway to Thailand increased by three percent, to 75,000, and the trend continues.
-Thailand is a very popular holiday destination among all tour organizers, so we are looking forward to a sustained growth this year as well, says Hilde Hirai, Thai Airways sales manager in Norway.
According to a spokesman for Oslo Gardermoen Airport, Thai was expected to extend some flights on their Bangkok-Copenhagen route into Oslo from this winter's program, but the plan did not materialize.
-Our headquarters obviously needed more time to assess the viability of a flight to Oslo. But Norwegian travellers are used to having to change planes at continental airport, and as Copenhagen Airport is very popular among our guests, the connection via Copenhagen really is not a problem, says Hilde Hirai.
