OCT 17, 2003 (newstodate): West Air Sweden has signed a long-term lease contract for another ATP aircraft.
The aircraft, currently being converted at Romaero's Baneasa facility near Bucharest into a Large Freight Door freighter, is planned for delivery in the first quarter of 2004.
In addition, West Air Sweden has agreed to extend the lease of another ATP aircraft, currently operated in the Swedish passenger charter market.
West Air Sweden has further negotiated purchase rights for both aircraft at the expiry of their lease terms.
After these aircraft have been taken over, West Air Sweden will operate a total of 12 ATP aircraft.
Nine of these are operating with a flexible E-Class configuration either on internal routes for the Swedish Post Office, or on behalf of the major integrators on routes throughout Europe.
The airline also operates nine BAe 748 turboprop freighters.
