NOV 27, 2003 (newstodate): On Wednesday, Blue 1, formerly Air Botnia, took delivery of the last Avro RJ aircraft to be manufactured.
The aircraft, the fourth delivered to Blue 1 in a final series comprising two Avro RJ100s and two RJ85s, was the 390th aircraft built, making it Britains most successful jet airliner, in service with 50 operators around the world.
Blue 1, member of the SAS Group, operates more than 80 daily flights to and from five cities in Finland to Stockholm, Gothenburg, Oslo, Copenhagen, Brussels and Dusseldorf, and the new aircraft have been deployed on to these routes, augmenting the airlines existing five Avro RJ85s operated since November 2001.
