NOV 14, 2003 (newstodate): Boeing has taken another step forward this week towards realising its Boeing 7E7 project.
For two days, Boeing met with 80 airline representatives and eight financial institutions about its 7E7 passenger airplane to gather inputs to support the program's work in 2004.
The attendees represented more than 80 percent of the owners and operators in the 7E7 market segment.
The 7E7 recently reached a key milestone known as "firm concept," indicating that the program has basically determined the airplane's size and functionality.
The next major milestone is Authority to Offer, a business milestone that must be approved by the company's board of directors.
According to schedule, the call for Authority to Offer will be completed late this year, or early in 2004.
The first deliveries of the 7E7 are slated for 2008.
