NOV 17, 2003 (newstodate): Copenhagen Airport is growing fast in air cargo import and exports, but the crucial transfer cargo continues its backslide.
In October, cargo imports were up 17.7 percent, to 4,172 tonnes, and exports increased by 24.7 percent to 6,079 tonnes. Transfer cargo, however, was down by 19.8 percent to 20,459, still constituting 66.6 percent of total volumes.
In January-October, imports were up 10.1 percent to 35,591 tonnes, exports by 8.6 percent to 52,016 tonnes, but transfer cargo down by 18.1 percent to 188,491 tonnes.
Overall, the airport's cargo volumes were down by 9.5 percent in October, and 11.1 percent in January-October due to the drastic falls in transfer cargo.
