NOV 11, 2003 (newstodate): Danish regional airline, DAT is seeking air cargo customers among Norwegian exporters of fresh fish.
-We have one ATR-72QC aircraft based at Bergen Airport for daily operations on the Bergen-Stavanger route, and this leaves the aircraft with an excess capacity, says Ole Christiansen, DAT sales & operations manager.
-We are thus targeting the exporters of fresh fish in the region with the offer to operate a daily flight into an European airport like Oostende from where we could take African flowers back to Norway if the market so warrants, he says.
-The ATR-72 can lift a maximum of 7.5 tonnes or 13 containers with 500 kg of cargo, so it is ideal for express follow-up shipments, says Mr Christiansen.
