NOV 14, 2003 (newstodate): Finnish company Logimix Oy is successfully running its special Kabul passenger and freight service out of Finland.
-We operate every second week for a variety of state organisations, NGOs and other customers primarily in the nordic region, says Hannu Kivisalo, Logimix manager.
Kivisalo says the company charters a variety of aircraft types according to the concrete needs of the operations, spanning from Boeing 737-800 in case of passenger transportation, to AN-124 for large and outsize shipments.
Logimix also operates aircraft like IL-76, based on dispensations out of Haparanda Airport, while Pori Airport is also often used for the Kabul flights.
-Logimix has had a very busy year, with some 150 charter flights, many of which have been operated between Africa and Europe, and within Europe, says Hannu Kivisalo.
Kikvisalo also says Logimix' business with Russia accounts for about one-third of the company's total business volume in 2003.
