NOV 21, 2003 (newstodate): Aircontact Norway is in the midst of a major operation to lift a new Norwegian troop contingent from Oslo to Kabul.
-The operation comprises 10 AN-124 flights, four AN-12 flights, and one MD-83 operation, says Christian Jull M�ller, Aircontact.
The An-124 flights comprise eight Polet and two Antonov flights, the AN-12 flights are operated with Ukrainean Cargo Airlines, and the MD-84 has been chartered from FreeBird Airlines.
-The AN-124 aircraft will transport the heavy equipment, dangerous goods including munitions are taken on the AN-12s, and the soldiers will be transported on the MD-83, Juul M�ller says.
In December, Aircontact will also be responsible for four or five MD-83 flights to Basra, Iraq, to change personnel from Norway's troop contingents.
