NOV 12, 2003 (newstodate): Etihad Airways, the UAE's new national airline, will make its inaugural scheduled flight today from Abu Dhabi to Beirut.
Form the start, Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways operates two Airbus A330 aircraft, but the fleet is expected to be increased to six or eight aircraft of the same type before the end of the year, the airline says.
Beirut is the launch destination, to be followed by Damascus and other cities in the Middle East, while more destinations in the Indian sub-continent, the UK and the Far East are under preparation.
