DEC 17, 2004 (newstodate): Meeting on December 10, Aeroflot's board of directors confirmed the airline's strategy and approved proposed increases in passenger and cargo.
While short of concrete details, the airline says the board of directors considered "a very important issue" of freight carriages development, thought to imply the future independent status of the airline's cargo department.
The board expects to increase significantly freight volumes in 2004-2006, and also approved yet unannounced proposals on restructuring of the freighter fleet.
According to an Aeroflot statement, the airline's cargo volumes are planned to increase by no less than 25 percent during the period.
