FEB 09, 2003 (newstodate): Aeroflot has decided on a fleet restructuring project, aiming at keeping 27 airliners of foreign origin.
Also included in the decision is reduction of foreign-built aircraft types from four to two by keeping nine B-767 and eighteen A-320 aircraft.
Aeroflot will also continue purchasing the long-haul aircraft IL-96-300, and the short-haul aircraft, TU-334.
The fleet renewal is designed to reduce leasing payments and cut operating costs at a total sum of 90 million US dollars annually.
