FEB 20, 2003 (newstodate): Dragonair has named new cargo sales agents in a range of markets in East Europe.
The move aims at expanding and strengthening the companys presence in the continent, and increasing the number of origin and destination points in its network, the company said in a statement.
Skylions has been named the airlines exclusive GSA in Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, while AirMark has been appointed the exclusive GSA in Turkey.
Skylions is headquartered in Vienna, Austria, and has offices in Linz, Austria; Budapest, Prague, and Bratislava.
AirMark, with its head office in Istanbul, will be responsible for sales in Turkey.
Dragonairs cargo operations set new record last year, with the airline carrying almost 200,000 tonnes a 60% increase over the 2001 figure.
Dragonair launched all-cargo services to Europe in 2000, and operates six flights a week to Amsterdam in the Netherlands and Manchester in the UK from Hong Kong via Dubai. With the new appointments it now has a cargo sales network in Europe covering 19 countries.
Dragonair operates a fleet of nine A330-300s, four A321s and eight A320s, in addition to three Boeing 747-300 freighters. The airline's passenger network covers 28 destinations across the Asia-Pacific region, while its cargo network connects the markets of Europe, the Middle East, Japan, Taiwan and China Mainland.
