MAR 04, 2003 (newstodate): Aircraft manufacturer Embraer expects no impact from SWISS' recent announcement of fleet reduction.
-Although the decision to reduce the fleet by 17 regional aircraft may involve ERJ 145 aircraft, these aircraft have already been delivered. We have no repurchase or remarketing obligations related to these assets, so the reduction will have no direct impact on Embraer, the company says in a release.
SWISS also holds a firm order for 60 of the new Embraer 170/190 family aircraft, and the two parties are now discussing details of the delivery schedule, Embraer says.
Embraer also maintains its current delivery forecast for 2003 and 2004 with 136 and 140 aircraft, respectively.
