MAR 11, 2003 (newstodate): Latvian freight forwarding company, Panda Kargo at Riga saw its total freight volumes up some 20 percent in 2002, and revenues growing even more.
-Set up only in 2000, and dealing mostly with imports as the Latvian export is still quite weak, we are now focussing especially on traffic from Germany, hoping to set up a cargo terminal in Germany this year in cooperation with a German partner, Evita Duma, Panda Kargo manager, says.
-Even if we are still relatively small in a European context, we expect business to continue indreasing with the country's imminent entry into the EU, she says.
Thus, Panda Kargo will expand the current staff at six with another two employees within a few months, also preparing to go more into sea and air transports despite strong competition.
Panda Kargo is also dealing extensively with imports from Poland, France and Italy.
