MAR 06, 2003 (newstodate): Norwegian-owned, Danish-based low-cost airline, Sterling has announced a new leasing contract for two Boeing 737-700 aircraft.
The agreement, taking effect from May 1,2003, has been signed with Danish carrier, Maersk Air.
Sterling already operates a fleet of six Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Under the new summer programme taking effect from May, Sterling will add nine new routes between Scandinavia and southern Europe, also increasing frequency on existing routes.
Sterling expects to increase number of flights by 50 percent in 2003 while doubling the aircraft fleet within three to five years, the company says in a release.
