APR 14, 2003 (newstodate): Poland may decide on the construction of a new capital airport, initially serving air cargo traffic, to relieve current traffic at the Okecie Airport near Warsaw.
Deputy prime minister and infrastructure minister Marek Pol is quoted for his intent to see a decision this year on the location of the new Warsaw airport.
Besides serving initially as a cargo airport it would also receive nighttime passenger flights, with part of the daily passenger air traffic at Okecie Airport being transferred gradually at later stages.
