MAY 02 (newstodate): The positive trends in the Baltic economies reflect in Latvian carrier, AirBaltic's air cargo figures as well.
According to air Baltic's cargo manager, Haralds Treimanis, the airline is seeing its cargo exports up by no less than 60 percent during the first part of this year, seen against the expected five percent increase in the country's economic growth.
-airBaltic has obviously been able to increase its market share as the total air cargo market in Latvia is probably up by between five and 10 percent, says Treimanis.
airBaltic generated a total of 230 tonnes of airfreight during Q1, of which some 70 percent are imports, and the remaining 30 percent are exports.
