MAY 20, 2003 (newstodate): Emirates has added its second Boeing 747-400F alongside its Boeing 747-200 freighter.
The freighters are operated on cargo-only routes to Amsterdam, Liege, Shanghai, Bangalore and Taipei, with more planned.
The freighters also serve Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Dusseldorf, Dhaka and Kuwait, which are also Emirates passenger destinations.
Emirates currently operates 27 A330-200s, one A310-300 (due to leave the fleet in August 2003), 11 Boeing 777-300s, nine Boeing 777-200s, two Boeing 747-400Fs and one Boeing 747-200F. The airline has on order two more A330-200s, six A340-500s (with two options), eight A340-600s, 22 A380-800s (with 10 options) and a total of 27 Boeing 777s.The question of how many of these will be Boeing 777-300s and how many -200s has yet to be finalised.
