MAY 12, 2003 (newstodate): Exel has announced the decision to reinstall business with Iraq.
The decision includes re-commencement of overland delivery operations to Baghdad in Iraq from Amman in Jordan.
Together with partner agent in Jordan, CML, Exel will now provide overland services for both commercial and relief aid cargos from the Aqaba seaport and Amman airport through to Baghdad City.
For more than 10 years, Exel and CML have shipped officially approved and documented UN oil for food-cargo into Iraq. This is the first time since UN restrictions were imposed on Iraq, that this service has been expanded to shippers of commercial cargo to the capital city, Baghdad.
CML is a privately owned Jordanian company exclusively representing Exel. CML was established after the first gulf war to provide national import, export and distribution services by air, road and sea.
