MAY 13, 2003 (newstodate): In Q1, SAS Cargo upped its total aircargo volumes by 12.2 percent, to 70,557 tonnes.
According to a release from the company, the increase is mainly due to the performance of the intercontinental destinations, and SAS Cargo has probably gained market shares in its Scandinavian home markets.
Cargo yields were, however, further down to 2.26 SEK per tonn/Km, compared to 2,49 in last year's Q1, and 2.27 for 2002, indicating a sustained excessive production cost level.
SAS Cargo's operating revenue was SEK 748 million, up 16 percent on last year's Q1
