JUN 13, 2003 (newstodate): Lastest figures from AEA for the week ending June 1 show a strong decline in all major markets against the previous weeks results.
Overall, traffic was down 8.6 percent compared with the same week in 2002. The loss of Far Eastern traffic of 29.1 percent was a continuation of a stable trend which has now persisted through seven consecutive weeks.
Traffic within Europe was at minus 8.4 percent, having been at minus 1.4 percent in the previous week. Evidently contributing to this development and to a much lesser extent impacting the other regions also was the industrial action which severely affected traffic to, from and overhead France on May 27.
