JUN 05, 2003 (newstodate): After its first AGM on May 26, Cool Chain Association, CCA, will now seek discussion with institutions such as IATA.
CCA will recommend that the IATA Perishables Handling Manual be adopted as a basic reference manual.
CCA would also like to work with IATA and others to formulate new reference standards, recommended for managing the complete movements of PTSPs in an unbroken cool chain.
A future step will be to define recommended Cool Chain Standards as the basis for certification of participating members.
During the AGM, a number of working groups were set up, including Airline & Airline Handling Committee, headed by Gerry Mundy, Global Perishables Manager BAWC, Trucking and terminal Handling Committee, headed by Willem Heeren, Mng Dir Jan de Rijk Logistics,
Innovation/New Technology, headed by Tony Wright, SVP Perishable Business, Envirotainer, Ocean Shipping and Port Handling Committee, headed by Andre Toet, Mng Dir, P&O Nedlloyd, and Airport/Handling Committee, headed by Jan Ditlevsen, Cargo Manager, Billund Airport.
