JUN 24, 2003 (newstodate): After sustained negative growth during May, Swedish Luftfartsverket that operates 19 Swedish airports, is downrating its expectations as to passenger traffic in 2003.
In May, the total number of passengers travelling through LFV airports was 2,271,900, down 11 percent compared with last year.
-The result for the first 5 months of the year indicates that traffic figures for the whole year will be lower than 2002, says LFVs Director of Group Marketing, Dan Lundvall. Our revised prognosis shows that the number of passengers using LFV airports in 2003 will be 5 to 6 percent lower in 2002. However, we do not expect this extreme negative trend to endure through 2003.
