JUL 14, 2003 (newstodate): AeroSvit Ukrainian Airlines and Thai International Airways have signed a MoU to develop the volumes of air traffic between Ukraine and the countries of South East Asia.
In the MoU, the two airlines declare their desire to conclude new special tariff agreement which will allow AeroSvit in cooperation with Thai International to carry passengers through the capital of Thailand to a further 15 countries of South East Asia and Asian-Pacific Region, totalling about 20 routes.
At the same time, Thai's passengers will be able to fly through Kyiv by AeroSvit flights to the countries of Eastern and South East Europe, Scandinavia and Eastern Mediterranean.
The MoU also envisages the signing of an agreement of joint operation of Kyiv-Bangkok air route.
AeroSvit opened a scheduled flight between Kiev and in November 2002. During the period before the end of this April Aerosvit carried about 15,000 passengers on this route.
Since the beginning of May flights were temporarily suspended due to general tendency of cutting passenger streams on the routes to the South East Asia.
Aerosvit now plans to services between Ukraine and Thailand from October 6, 2003.
