JUL 14, 2003 (newstodate): In June, Copenhagen Airport's total cargo volumes dropped by 13.1 percent, to 27,180 tonnes.
Clouded by the drop in total volumes are an 18.7 percent increase in cargo imports, and a 6.3 percent increase in cargo exports.
This could not, however, balance a fall by 21.6 percent in the airport's transfer cargo columes, constituting 66.9 percent of total tonnages.
For the period January-June, the airport's total volume is down by 11.1 percent. Again, imports grew by 4.7 percent, exports by 3.4 percent, while transfer cargo dropped by 16.4 percent, constituting 69.4 percent of total volumes.
Behind the poor performance are the effects from DHL Aviation's partial re-routing of Nordic traffic away from Copenhagen, and the general effect from the global industrial and economic downturns
