JUL 25, 2003 (newstodate): From mid-November, Swedish Post-owned carrier Falcon Air will concentrate on cargo business solely, leaving the passenger transportation business entirely.
During the last 10 years Falcon Air has performed passenger service in co-operation with local airline companies and major travel agencies.
-Unfortunately, we cannot continue the charter service due to financial reasons. The global surplus of aircraft has increased greatly, which has forced prices and revenues too far down, says Rolf A Johansson, Falcon Air President.
Falcon air says the airmail service between Malmo, Gothenburg, Stockholm-Arlanda, Umea, Lulea and Sundsvall will remain unchanged.
Falcon Air, established in the 60'ties, was acquired by Swedish Post in 1987 and currently operates three Boeing 737-300QC and a leased ATR42-300.
