JUL 30, 2003 (newstodate): Finnair will respond to rapidly increasing demands in the market for air travels to the Far East by increasing frequency on its Helsinki-Beijing route.
Last week Finnair added a second flight, on Friday July 1 a third flight is introduced, and by the middle of August the airline plans to add a fourth weekly flight.
According to the airline, most passengers
between Helsinki and Beijing use connecting flights between Helsinki and other European destinations, which is expected to generate larger passenger volumes in the airline's European traffic as well.
Due to the effects from the SARS crisis, Finnair cut its Beijing route to a single weekly flight in May.
