AUG 14, 2003 (newstodate): Last weekend, Norwegian aircraft broker and aviation consultant Aircontact managed a total of four relief cargo flights.
-Two IL-76 flights lifting a total of 104 tonnes of emergency equipment for IFLC were performed from Amman to Kasala, Sudan, to bring relief to the victims of the current flooding disaster, says Magnus Gulliksen, Aircontact air broker.
-Also during the weekend we chartered one AN-12 aircraft to fly 18 tonnes of relief materials from Geneva to Monrovia, while another AN-12 airecraft was chartered on behalf of the Norwegian Ministryu of Defence to take a number of motor cycles to the Norwegian UN forces in Afghanistan, he says.
According to Mr Gulliksen, the market is now heating up very much as to relief operations into Liberia.
