AUG 07, 2003 (newstodate): Austrian Airlines Group has dedicated itself to achieving the role as "the No 1 Eastern Europe specialist with pan-European reach".
-By 2008, we intend to increase our volume of passengers travelling to and from Eastern and Central Europe by 50 percent from its present level of app. 1.2 million passengers. Our Easern European network already enjoys a 27 percent share of the total route network, and 18 percent of our total passenger volume. We will also be making significant increases to the region's share of revenue, which currently stands at around 15 percent, by developing our profile as the No 1 Eastern Europe specialist with a pan-European reach, said Josef E Burger, Austrian Airlines Group chief commercial officer, at the announcement of the Group's H1 results.
