AUG 21, 2003 (newstodate): Icelandair Cargo is happy to see new destinations added to the airline's route network from next summer.
According to the airline's ceo, these destinations will include Helsinki, Berlin, Munchen, Zurich, Madrid, and Orlando.
-Most of the new routes have limited importance for cargo as they will be operated in the summer only with low frequency. They will, however, be small but good additions to the network, says Petur J Eiriksson, Icelandir Cargo managing director.
-On the other hand we see good possibilities in Helsinki that will be trafficked twice a week to begin with. We will improve service between Iceland and Finland, we see good possibilities for trans Atlantic traffic, and we will add a new connecting point to and from the Far East.
-Orlando has been served by Icelandair during the winter programme, but it will now become an all-year destination. We usually carry freight to the limit on most Orlando flights so this will be a good addition, Eiriksson says.
