AUG 04, 2003 (newstodate): From this autumn, Lufthansa Cargo is planning to introduce a diffentiated approach to air cargo rates.
-From October 1, Lufthansa Cargo will adjust its prices on a differentiated basis in order to tie rates more closely to specific market demands, says Nils Haupt, Lufthansa Cargo Corporate Communications.
-That means in effect that rates on peak-demand routes will be raised higher than in regions where traffic levels are comparably weak. In global terms, the rates hike will average four per cent, he says.
Lufthansa Cargo will also continue to offer customers tailored capacity purchase agreements, which can be concluded with or without capacity return rights.
Under these agreements, rates will reflect the demand situation on individual routes and remain constant throughout the duration of an agreement.
