SEP 08, 2003 (newstodate): In July, air cargo volumes at Copenhagen Airport fell by 12.6 percent to 26.328 tonnes.
Air cargo imports rose by hefty 19.3 percent to 3,633 tonnes, but this could not balance the drop in exports by 16.6 percent, nor the fall by 22.5 percent in the airport's crucial transfer cargo volumes that in July constituted 66.7 percent of total volumes.
The transfer cargo has thus fallen from comprising 75.3 percent of total volumes in July 2002.
For the period January-July, the fall in total volumes is now 11.3 percent. The airport generated a total of 189,169 tonnes during the period this year, compared to 213,698 tonnes last year.
Both cargo imports and exports rose during the period, but transfer cargo was down 17.3 percent.
