SEP 11, 2003 (newstodate): In August, Estonian Air carried a total of 99.6 tonnes of cargo, up 32.8 percent on last year.
The total splits into 41.8 tonnes of export, and 57.8 tonnes of imports. In addition, Estonian Air carried 31.8 tonnes of mail, import and export combined.
-The most important destinations are Stockholm, Copenhagen and Frankfurt, while more and more cargo, mainly transit, is sent to Kiev, says Epp Alatalu, Estonian Air communications manager.
-The increasing loads for Kiev are mainly due to larger capacity on the route. From the second half of August, one of the three weekly flights has been operated with Boeing aircraft, and from November all Tallinn-Kiev flights will be operated with Boeing 737-500, Alatalu says.
