SEO 05, 2003 (newstodate): Operating since July 1, Onexp, selling and marketing the cargo capacity on Scandinavia's low-cost carrier Sterling, is seeing the critical mass warranting further business volume.
-On Sterling's flights out of Denmark and Scandinavia, the progress is manifest, and Onexp is doing fine. But northbound from France and Italy, the development is very unsatisfactory, says Peter Garrett, Sterling captain and owner of Onexp.
According to Garrett, loads out of Nice and Bergamo have been practically zero in sharp contrast to expectations.
After a tender, Onexp contracted ATC as cargo GSA in France and Italy.
-I expect our GSA to be active in the market, and in the selection of our GSAs I attached great importance to the seriousness and dedication on both sides in meeting the joint targets. If this cannot soon be achieved with our current GSA, an alternative must be found within the not too distant future, Garrett says.
In the Scandinavian markets, Onexp has contracted ScanPartners as their GSA, and Garrett attributes the significant achiements here to strong efforts by the GSA in selling and marketing the new company's products.
