SEP 24, 2003 (newstodate): The SWISS WorldCargo setup in Denmark needed adjustment, so the cooperation with ScanPartners aims at enhancing the service quality significantly, according to its Scandinavian GSA, Air Trade Support.
-We established our organisation in Denmark in May, but it turned out that the small-scale office was unable to serve the market with the quality required, says Soren Eng, ATS managing director, at Stockholm.
-Instead, we are now cooperating with ScanPartners, that will take over responsibility for SWISS bookings and traffic while our own office in Denmarks will be closed down, he says.
Acording to Mr Eng, the SWISS decision to cut capacity in the Scandinavian markets by introducing small Embraer aircraft has reduced SWISS cargo sales correspondingly, but while pulling out of the volume cargo market SWISS still plays a role in the market for express and special cargo shipments.
SWISS WorldCargo is handled by SAS Cargo in Scandinavia that also operates a trucking service from Stockholm and Copenhagen to Zurich on a regular basis.
