JAN 23, 2004 (newstodate): As elsewhere, Boeing 737 remains a popular aircraft in Russia and the CIS countries.
According to year-end statistics provided by Boeing, eight operators in the region operate a total of 34 Boeing 737 aircraft.
Only six of these are New Generation aircraft, however, including one yet to be delivered. The remainder are older generation Boeing 737-300, -400 and -500 aircraft.
The customer count includes operators in the region comprising Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
