JAN 15, 2004 (newstodate): Boeing 737 continues to be the preferred workhorse among operators in a wide range of countries in the former E Europe.
According to Boeing statistics, a total of 14 operators fly 110 aircraft of this type in the region comprising Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Yugoslavia, and Hungary.
Most extensively used are "classic" Boeing 737s, but the grand totals as of December 14, 2003, also include 13 Boeing 737 New Generation aircraft in service, and another 28 on order.
