JAN 15, 2004 (newstodate): jetsSky that plans to launch flights from February this year now takes to the offensive against a negative press campaign.
-jetSkye will start operations from February 1 out of Amsterdam and other airports, the company says in a release.
-jetsSky is not a new Dutch airline, has never profiled itself as such, and a request for a Dutch AOC is not being considered. jetsSky has signed contracts with airlines that will operate from Amsterdam and Billund, and jetsSky does have the intention to exploit a Danish airline in its first year of operation.
-This airline will be established in Billund and will be called JetsSky Airlines A/S. But even then jetsSky Holland will apart from using aircraft from jetsSky Airlines (Denmark) continue to lease-in aircraft on an ACMI and Eurocontrol basis, because this enhances our flexibility, the company continues.
-In Denmark jetsSky Airlines A/S is being created with the sole purpose of achieving an own Danish AOC within a period of two or three months. Since December 1, a full management team has been employed in order to establish jetsSky Airlines A/S.
-The airlines contracted by jetsSky to operate on its behalf do have a contractual duty, based on the IATA regulations, to transport passengers from A to B. This regulation is created by IATA just to protect the passengers in general buying tickets in advance of any flights. All routes operated by jetsSky are mentioned in detail in jetsSky's contracts.
-All of the required slot times for Amsterdam Schiphol Airport have been acknowledged to jetsSky for all our flights as they are mentioned in our flight schedules. We are also negotiating with handling companies established at Schiphol about fees, baggage handling and certain warranties, the company says.
