JAN 08, 2004 (newstodate): From February 1, fledgling Dutch-owned travel company, jetsSky plans to start traffic from nine European countries to 14 cities in Europe.
In Denmark, Billund Airport will be connected to seven destinations including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Las Palmas, Malaga, Nice, Oslo and Stockholm.
-Initially, jetsSky will serve only as a sales company, while the traffic will be produced by aircraft from Spanish Hola Airlines. Later, however, we plan to build an own airline, jetsSky Denmark A/S that will then take over out traffic, says Marc Melgaard, jetsSky manager marketing & PR.
According to Mr Melgaard, jetsSky Denmark A/S will have its own aircraft fleet, and the company is currently evaluating which aircraft type to select.
-Plans are to acquire two aircraft as a first step, later to be expanded to a fleet of six aircraft, says Melgaard.
Melgaard says the company may also consider, at a later stage, to include carriage of air cargo as a complement to its passenger focus.
