JAN 30, 2004 (newstodate): Work on the proposed freighter route from Norway via Luleaa Kallax Airport continues "according to schedule".
-We maintain the originally planned start-up of the new freighter service from medio February, and we now are some 90 percent into the preparations, says Terje Dybvik, Nord-Norsk Spedisjon general manager and project member.
Dybvik says no further details will be released before the end of next week as agreed with the airline that is to operate the route.
According to industry sources Polar Air has been named as a viable partner to the project for a freighter service with Norwegian salmon exports to Japan via Korea, but this has not been confirmed by the project members.
In addition to Nord-Norsk Spedisjon, Danish forwarding and logistics company, DFDS Transport is involved in the project, primarily in charge of talks with viable airline parties.
