OCT 29, 2004 (newstodate): After the demise of V-Bird, Danish in-night logistics company DAN'X has reorganised its traffic systems.
DAN'X used the cargo capacity of V-Bird's late in/early out Airbus A320 flights from Niederrhein to Copenhagen Airport for transport of shipments to the Danish, Swedish and Norwegian markets, in parallel with speedy trucking services from customers in Germany and Holland to Denmark.
-We have maintained our trucking services into Copenhagen, but strengthened our cooperation with Lufthansa Cargo's flights from Dusseldorf to Oslo and Stockholm, now flying cargo loads directly into these markets, coupled with special handling contracts to secure late delivery and early hand-out times, says Bob Thorhauge, DAN'X managing director.
-These services have proved a success, and if we can maintain this high level of quality it will certainly satisfy our needs in the current phase, he says.
-In November we will add Lufthansa flights from Dusseldorf to Helsinki, to serve specific customers in the Finnish market.
-As we have customers that demand not just 97 or 98, but 100 percent quality in delivery times, we are very keen to monitor airport handling performance very closely, and this is especially required when we use flights out of Frankfurt and Munich airport.
-As volumes increase over time we will again consider setting up our own traffic system, but so far the cooperation with commercial airlines plus our fast trucking services to Copenhagen and from Copenhagen to and from the other Scandinavian destination work to our full satisfaction, says Bob Thorhauge.
