OCT 04, 2004 (newstodate): Tehran's new international airport has again surfaced as a major focus of strife among Iran's politicians.
Iran's parliament has voted to dismiss the country's transport minister, accusing him for mismanagement of a range of issues, including air safety, and the awarding to the Turkish TAV engineering consortium of a contract to run the capital's new airport.
The airport's inauguration earlier this year was shirt-lived as the miliraty moved in to clock the runways, forcing operations to a stand-still.
