OCT 01, 2004 (newstodate): From November 1, Danish airline DAT will introduce a daily freighter service in Norway between Oslo and Bergen.
The special converted ATR-42 "structural tube" freighter will fly from Oslo to Bergen every morning and park there till its late afternoon return flight for Oslo.
-We are in negotiations with a few consolidators, and if these contracts are landed they will provide us with a critical mass to push the operation. But we would still like to attract other customers to utilise the remaining capacity either to distribute inbound freight at Oslo to other Norwegian destinations, or to feed carriers operating at Oslo Gardermoen Airport, says Ole Christiansen, DAT operations and sales manager.
The ATR-42 "spider net"-equipped converted freighter has a capacity of five tonnes, or 50 cubic metres
