NOV 19, 2004 (newstodate): The Swedish CAA has decided to pull out of the project, Kallax Cargo at Luleaa Airport.
The project is focussed on marketing Kallax Airport as a choice fuelling station for international freighter traffic along the Russian trans-polar flight lanes.
Success has been sparse as the opening of the Russian airspace has been burdened by exhorbitant Russian demands for overflight or airnav fees, disguised as bilateral commercial agreeements with airlines.
Kallax Cargo's managing director, Goran Remahl, withdraw from his position earlier this year, leaving the chair empty.
The remaining investors include regional public funds, and Robert Arendal, who was one of the original sources of the project, remains as chairman of the board.
