NOV 11, 2004 (newstodate): KrasAir is amidst a major fleet modernisation program.
The program, running from 2003 till 2005, aims at providing the airline with 20 new aircraft allowing it to withdraw ageing Russian-built aircraft that will not comply with current EU noise abatement rules.
The airline has already taken in two 15 years old Boeing 767-200ER,and two IL-96-300 on a 15-years lease agreement with IFLC.
Two new YAK-42D have been leased, as have six TU-204 aircraft.
The airline is also negotiating the acquisition of six MD-83 aircraft that have so far not been certified to operate in Russia.
